“This ultimate package includes everything you need to stay fueled and hydrated on the go, and you’ll have peace of mind knowing you’re fully prepared.”

Emergency Ration Bars
I was most curious about the Emergency Ration bars, so I chose to try those first while out of town for work. They were surprisingly good for something that literally has “SURVIVAL” stamped on it. I’ve been keeping them in my truck for the past month or so, and they’ve been perfect as a stand-in for tail mix and protein bars. Let’s be real, most “survival” food isn’t exactly a gourmet experience. But these were actually tasty, with a flavor that reminded me a bit of Starbucks’ Lemon Pound Cake. At 410 calories a pop, one of these bars can really give you a solid energy boost if you’re stranded or just need quick fuel without any fuss. Plus, they’re compact and the wrapper is very tough, so they tuck away nicely in a glove compartment or any bag, always ready when you need.

Now, a heads-up: they’re super calorie-dense, but they can get a bit crumbly, so eating them on the road is best done carefully. That said, that crumbly nature actually makes them pretty versatile; they’re awesome if you just want to nibble on something sweet in the morning while you’re sipping your coffee. One bar is probably enough to keep you going for a good while, but I’d say these sweet treats are best for when you can’t set up camp, or you’re trying to keep a certain pace up and don’t have time to stop for a prepared meal.

Hydration Punch
I’m a stickler for staying hydrated, especially during those long drives or unexpected stops – there’s always at least a gallon of water in my truck in addition to a constantly rotating case of 20-oz water bottles. While the Hydration Punch is not a water purifier, this powder is designed to jazz up your water with flavor and electrolytes, which is both a mood-booster and a gentle reminder for me to keep chugging away in the summer heat.

Plain water can get boring after a long day of shooting or driving – even I get tired of it. A tasty drink can make a huge difference in getting enough fluids, which is vital for staying energized and focused when you’re out in the boonies. And let’s not forget those crucial electrolytes. I found the Hydration Punch to be genuinely refreshing and a welcome change from just plain water – especially when I could mix it with super cold water. The flavor was noticeable but not overwhelming, making it easy to drink even when I was feeling wiped out. Don’t expect it to be as sweet as Gatorade or Powerade, but also not chalky and distasteful like some other powdered electrolyte drink mixes. The powder itself mixes up fast and completely with one scoop in a 20-oz bottle, which is a huge win for convenience when you’re just pulling over and need a quick drink without hitting up a gas station.

Morning Kick Travel Pack
Another cool drink-oriented thing in the Ultimate Campout Kit is the “Morning Kick Travel Pack,” with 10 individual packets. The intention here is to give you an energy boost and keep you feeling good overall, which is super helpful when you’re battling fatigue during an emergency or after a grueling day of work. For those early starts on a shoot, or just to shake off the grogginess from an unexpected overnight stay, its portable design means you can just grab it and go, giving you a quick way to perk up and stay sharp when time and energy are at a premium.

I was genuinely surprised by the Morning Kick. It gave me a noticeable, steady energy boost without any of those annoying jitters you sometimes get from energy drinks or too much coffee (there is no such thing as too much coffee). The taste was surprisingly decent for a powdered drink, making it easy to just dump into any water bottle. This kind of drink is awesome, especially when I needed to be ready to roll in the morning but didn’t have time for my usual coffee ritual. Best of all, the individual packets mean I can just keep them stashed in my truck, ready for those days when coffee just isn’t an option.

3-Day Emergency Kit
Beyond the individual food and drink items, the kit also includes a general “3-Day Emergency Kit.” This is actually the Roundhouse Provisions 3-Day Emergency Meal Kit, specifically designed to give you all the nutrition you need for up to three days. It packs 26 servings of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all whipped up by food scientists and gourmet chefs to be both nutritious and, believe it or not, tasty. These meals are ridiculously easy to make – just add boiling water, stir, and wait for them to rehydrate. That quick prep is a massive bonus when you’re in a hurry or don’t have a full kitchen setup, like during an impromptu overnight in your truck. Plus, the kit’s built for the long haul, boasting a 25-year shelf life perfect for stashing in your vehicle or at home. You get options like Oatmeal with brown sugar, Cheesy Broccoli Rice, and Creamy Chicken Flavored Rice, which offer some nice variety. This solid emergency meal kit really covers those crucial first three days after an unexpected event, making sure you’re fed and have peace of mind.

While I didn’t eat the whole 3-day kit, the individual meals I sampled from the kit were very good as far as camp food goes. The Oatmeal was comforting and flavorful, just what you want on a chilly morning. The savory meals, like the Cheesy Broccoli Rice and Creamy Chicken Flavored Rice, were surprisingly hearty and well-seasoned, tasting way better than your typical emergency rations – no need for extra salt. That said, while generally good, the Cheesy Broccoli Rice could sometimes be a tad bland, and the Creamy Chicken Flavored Rice, while super convenient, occasionally left a slightly artificial aftertaste. Still, the convenience of just adding boiling water makes them perfect for a quick, satisfying meal when you’re out in the field or just want to beef up your regular camping food stash without sacrificing taste. The Cheesey Broccoli rice can be helped with just a bit of bread or when accompanied with a nice cold beer at camp.

Conclusion
The Roundhouse Provisions Ultimate Campout Kit really blew me away with how good everything tastes, and how well it has held up in my truck the last couple of months. It hits that sweet spot between providing substantial, decent-tasting food and essential survival gear, all neatly packed in a tough, organized way. While the whole kit is fantastic for roadside readiness, the quality of the food items – particularly those emergency ration bars and the genius of the hydration punch – makes them awesome additions to my regular camping food rotation.

As for a recommendation for or against? For the price, I think this kit would be great for anyone serious about being prepared, whether it’s for natural disasters, unexpected outdoor adventures, or just having a few easy and tasty meals to share with friends on your next camping trip. This kit offers solid value. You can tell a lot of thought went into putting it together, making it a highly recommended piece of gear for any emergency plan, which is why I suppose it’s “Chuck Norris Approved.”
