However, after being in a coma for 20 years, the ‘Sleeping Prince’ of Saudi Arabia passed away on July 19, 2025. It was on July 19, 2025, when ‘Sleeping Prince’s father, Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud announced the heartbreaking news. He shared that his son passed away on July 19, 2025, at a medical facility in Saudi Arabia. He also posted a photo of his late son, AI-Waleed bin Khalid bin Talal AI Saud, on his X (Twitter), and mourned his demise. The post also revealed that his son’s funeral would take place, today, i.e on July 20, 2025. The grieving father’s note could be read as:
“With hearts believing in Allah will and decree, and with deep sorrow and sadness, we mourn our beloved son: Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may Allah have mercy on him, who passed away today.”
