The Hallmark Channel’s new film trilogy, Providence Falls, quickly became a fan favorite among viewers.
Providence Falls appealed to audiences since it combined the best of many genres: romance, time travel, and murder mysteries. How many times can they find that in one place?
The characters were relatable, and we rooted for Liam to find redemption and win Cora’s heart.
And in a twist of fate, Finn didn’t feel like a loser, but built his own relationship with Suzette over time.
Viewers loved both couples and hope that there are more stories to tell about them.
So Many Stories for the Providence Falls Universe
In 2008, another popular Hallmark franchise began with a movie and then launched several more and a TV series.
Good Witch was one of the network’s best series, and many fans on social media have commented that they hope Providence Falls will launch a long-running series, too.
Why? Because there are many stories left to explore. The Hallmark Channel could try another Providence Falls film trilogy or go further and expand it to a TV series.
There are so many options, including adding a Hallmark holiday film set in Ireland.
That would be entertaining to see Liam and Cora celebrating Christmas there, interpersed with a modern Christmas in Providence Falls with their family and friends, and holiday films are Hallmark’s trademark.
We know that the fans are adamant about learning more about Liam, Cora, Suzette, and Finn.
Switch the Script for Liam and Cora
Liam and Cora ended up together, and they fulfilled her destiny by opening up more branches of Second Chances to help others. It may seem like their story is complete.
However, Lachlan Quarmby and Katie Stevens want to work together again. They learned a great deal from each other and vibed well.
Providence Falls could easily show them mentoring others in the present, but many of the cast members long to film again in Ireland.
It would be entertaining to have them return there to fix some of Liam’s mistakes. And in this scenario, they could flip things where Cora remembers everything from the present, but Liam only remembers stuff from 1844.
Would Liam act like a charming, but selfish rogue again, or could her love save him? Would the angels and Bael interfere with a new mission?
Expanding the Franchise Means They Can Expand Finn and Suzette’s Role
The Hallmark Channel should also focus more on Finn and Suzette. While their roles increased with each film, they still played second fiddle to Liam and Cora. And fans of theirs? They crave more!
In the new universe, they could explore Suzette’s backstory of how she became a cat burglar and became entangled with Bael.
Filming in Paris would be a fun option for these two!
They could create a similar scenario with them, where she and Finn must return to Paris to rectify her mistakes and battle Bael and Gabriel for her soul.
We also need to find out if Finn accepted the new job in San Diego or if he decided to continue practicing law in Providence Falls.
Also, while audiences saw flirtation between Finn and Suzette, we never experienced their courtship on screen, and we would love to see more of them and for a series or film to bring that to life, too.
Should the Angels Help Other Lost Souls?
While we would love to see more with the leads, there is also potential for a series where the angels redeem other lost souls.
Agon was especially hilarious as he grew fond of Liam. I can only imagine how he would act as he tries to guide them on the proper path.
Liam and Cora could even be involved since Second Chances was so successful.
That could be part of the new series — helping new characters turn their life around.
We saw how helpful they were with Dominic. Let’s keep it going.
