(ANSA) – ROME, MAR 26 – AS Roma Argentina forward Paulo Dybala on Wednesday returned to Rome from London where he had surgery following an injury to his left semitendinosus tendon, saying he did not know when he would be back in action for the Giallorossi.
The forward injured the semitendinosus tendon of his left thigh during his side’s 1-0 home win over Cagliari last Sunday.
The 31-year-old came off 13 minutes after taking the field as a second-half substitute.
He has been central to Roma’s rise up the Serie A table to seventh place since Claudio Ranieri came out of retirement to return as coach in November when they were four points above the relegation zone.
“I’m fine. But I don’t know when I’ll be back, the doctors told me I can walk without crutches,” Dybala said after landing at Ciampino Airport.
“I spoke to Ranieri – he added -. Will I be in Lecce with the team on Saturday? I don’t know, I have to talk to the doctors.
For the other matches I think so”.
From Thursday the Argentine will be back in Trigoria training camp for rehabilitation.
His return is provisionally expected some time between July and August. (ANSA).
