Sonu Nigam has been the voice behind some of the most iconic songs in India, including Sandese Aate Hai, Aabhi Mujhe Mein Kahin, Dil Dooba, and more. His soulful voice has often captivated audiences, but on the other hand, the singer’s controversies have made him a target of criticism. A similar incident took place a few days ago when the singer was performing at his Bengaluru concert and was asked by a person to sing in Kannada. In turn, the singer not only refused because he found the person’s tone loud and connected it with the Pahalgam attack. His words enraged many pro-Kannda groups, who filed a legal case and threatened to ban him. Now, Sonu has shared a video to address the issue.

Sonu Nigam clarifies his controversial remark at the Bengaluru concert

After Sonu Nigam’s statement at his Bengaluru concert brought legal trouble and criticism from pro-Kannada groups, the actor recently shared a new video to address the issue. He took to his Instagram handle and shared a video where he shared how the events unfolded at the event and why he responded in such a manner. The singer explained that at the concert, 4 to 5 individuals were shouting aggressive chants of ‘Kannada Kannada.’ Unlike a soft request, they angrily asked him to sing in Kannada despite being stopped by thousands of people, which led to his comment. He said:

“Un paanchon ko ye batana aur yaad dilaana bohot zaroori tha ki, Pahalgam mein jab pant utaari gayi thi, tab bhaasha nahi puchhi gayi thi.”
