On a Friday, I was working on a job when a dog came walking down the street. I called her over, and she turned out to be a girl pit bull. She was so sweet, and she had a tag, so I called the owner and told her the dog was safe and would be at the house until she could come get her.

About 30 minutes later, the owner came and picked her up. Then, about 30 minutes after that, I walked outside to get a tool off the truck and saw this little beagle walking down the sidewalk.
I called him over, and he came right to me. I asked him if he wanted a drink of water, and he looked at me like I had just given him a Milk-Bone. I gave him water and let him inside the house I was working in so he could cool off, since it was over 100 degrees that day in North Florida.

After an hour, he got up, walked to the door, and started barking. Thinking he lived nearby, I let him out so he could go home. He walked down the street to another house with his tail wagging, so I thought he must have made it home.
I started packing up to leave for the day when the lady at that house asked if he was my dog. I said no, but I would take him with me. We went home, and my girlfriend posted found dog ads on Craigslist, but we never got any replies.
He fit right in with my other dog, so I took him to the vet to get treated for fleas and to get his shots. That was when I found out he had heartworms.
We went home and talked it over, and because we had both grown attached to him, we decided to keep him and get him the treatment he needed. As of yesterday, 12/5/14, he got his last two shots and is back home recovering.
He follows my girlfriend everywhere she goes in the house. Now his future is so bright, he’s gotta wear shades.
