As Russian forces continue to attack Ukraine, animal rescuers and caretakers are overwhelmed trying to feed and care for all the abandoned and homeless dogs and cats.
They are doing their best to keep them safe and fed until they can find loving homes, but the pet food supply is running low once again. This is a recurring problem.
The hungry dogs and cats devour the donated pet food. Shelters and caretakers need a continuous supply of pet food to ensure bowls are never empty.
Krystina at Under the Sun Shelter shared that there have been times when she must resort to making porridge for the dogs, using scraps of meat along with rice and barely, to give the hundreds of dogs in her care something to eat.
Soldiers and other caretakers have shared the little food they have with animals in their care, but that will not last.
