What do you call a person who puts the needs of other people and animals before hers, even in times of war, – to call her a hero is an understatement.
We call her Lala. She is the founder of 12 Guards and has been risking her life to evacuate people and pets since the Russian Invasion four years ago.
She teams up with our other hero, Krystina, on rescue missions to the frontlines to save abandoned and homeless animals and find them loving homes. (You may recognize her face from rescue videos we shared.)

Lala told us that even though she is afraid, she heads to the frontlines herself so no one else on her team has to risk their lives. Drones are looming overhead as they break chains of dogs abandoned outside and rescue starving animals from the streets.

GreaterGood and The Animal Rescue Site are proud to announce our support for Lala and 12 Guards.
Saving lives is the mission but it involves countless people and resources. Safety and animal welfare are always considered, and the end goal is to find every animal – sick, old, or anti-social- a loving home.

Lala and her team of veterinarians ensure every animal is sterilized, vaccinated, and treated before going to a foster or forever home. The terrified and aggressive dogs undergo behavior treatment and regain their trust in humans.

Sick or injured dogs receive medical care and regain their health before heading to their new homes. 12 Guards rescues and adopts roughly 50 dogs every month. Calls continue to come in for help and Lala and Krystina come to the rescue.

They head to the most dangerous areas to save innocent animals and give them the second chance they deserve. They can’t do this life-saving work alone. Donate today to help feed and care for evacuated animals.
