Casper Was Struck by a Car and Now He Is Fighting to Ever Walk Again

Casper Was Struck by a Car and Now He Is Fighting to Ever Walk Again

In one terrible moment everything changed for an eight-month-old puppy named Casper.

The terrier mix was struck by a car and found unable to move with a broken pelvis. The severely injured pup was found as a stray and arrived at an overcrowded shelter where no one came to claim him. Due to his injuries, Casper was placed on a euthanasia list at the high-kill shelter.

His mobility was stolen by the accident, and he nearly lost his life until a rescue stepped up to help. He is just a puppy and has his whole life ahead of him. Even though his recovery will be costly they said, “we couldn’t let him die.”

They brought him to a clinic where X-rays revealed multiple fractures to his pelvis and dislocated hips. Casper remembers what it felt like to walk and run, but now all he feels is pain.

Without surgery, he may never be able to walk or run again. He will need months of rehabilitation after surgery as his pelvis heals.

The rescue reached out to Greater Good Charities’ Emergency Animal Medical fund for help with his expensive medical bills. With your support, the fund helps cover medical care for sick and injured shelter pets and gives them the second chance they deserve.

Despite all his pain, he remains a friendly puppy who loves to snuggle. He may not be able to move his feet without pain, but he continues to fight.
