(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 26 – Tensions mounted between police and demonstrators against the government’s controversial security decree in Rome Monday.
Protesters tried to Piazza Barberini, where the demo as supposed to have been staged, and tried to get down Via del Tritone towards government offices, but police kept them back with their shields.
Critics accuse the decree of making many forms of protest liable to criminal charges. (ANSA).
