Timely nuggets of information and ideas we want to share with you.
Here is a rather daunting idea, but one that could be fascinating when it’s finished. Blogger Tim Urban published a visualization of life as a series of little squares, each square representing a week. It’s an interesting way to share your life story with friends and family, and to track specific periods in your life, and view them as aprt of the whole for a different perspective. Here is an example he did of Taylor Swift’s 30’s: Your Life in Weeks.
This shampoo is deeply cleansing and will add body to your hair, and the conditioner will hydrate, plump and ‘invigorate’ your hair. They are both volumizing. They have a floral scent, and the shampoo has good lather. They are popular hair treatments, created by a stylist. $10.99 each. Shampoo, Conditioner.
I recently came across an author named Mitch Horowitz. He has recently published a list of 101 “rules of effective living” based on thirty years of reading “nearly every major work of inspirational literature produced or translated into English.” It is a list I have printed out and hope to remember to refer to often. Even though some are basic, sometimes we still need reminding. Here are a few of my favorites:
3) Acknowledge failure.
6) Be willing to clean toilets and wash floors.
9) Apologize.
19) Measure twice.
20) Get away from cruel people—at all costs.
33) When you feel a sense of unease, honor it without question.
46) Write nothing you would not want read aloud in public.
71) Morality judges another; ethics judges self.
76) Know who you are talking to.
I recently read about a study that showed that people feeling nauseous or were vomiting experienced reduced symptoms after inhaling isopropyl alcohol. The results of those inhaling the alcohol were compared to those who had taken a common anti-nausea drug and those inhaling the alcohol had improved mild to moderate nausea and vomiting- Read about the study here.
