Multiple shakeout rides set off from Gatehouse of Fleet during the day. The first was led by Olympic medallist and Saturday UCI start list rider Jonathan Brownlee (GBR), the second by Bradley Wiggins (GBR). Final course reconnaissance was completed during the day across both the UCI race and the Genesis Gralloch Ultra route. With recons signed off and the elite field gathered, the racing begins on Saturday.
