Over three decades ago, a trip to the frozen yoghurt shop in Austin, Texas turned fatal for four young girls. What was meant to be a fan trip on December 6, 1991, still haunts the families of Amy Ayers, Jennifer Harbison, Sarah Harbison, and Eliza Thomas, all teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17. The four girls were killed and stripped of their clothing in the back room of the shop before the place was set on fire. Now, HBO has brought back the chilling horrors of that day in a docuseries titled, The Yogurt Shop Murders.
The Yogurt Shop Murders is all set to make your blood run cold
Directed by Margaret Brown, The Yogurt Shop Murders explores all the possible theories surrounding the murder of the four girls. The show featured real interviews with investigators, suspects, the victims’ families and rare footage of the suspects filmed by a local Austin documentary filmmaker, Claire Huie. While why these four girls were murdered is still unknown, for Margaret, it hit too close to home as she herself is a native of Austin, and the murder story had become a collective memory in every local’s mind and conversation.
