(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 29 – Campania has registered its third West Nile Virus, taking the total number of victims of the disease that is spread by mosquitoes to seven since the start of the year in Italy, sources said Tuesday.
Lazio, the region Rome belongs to, has also record three West Nile deaths over the last few weeks and a person died of it in Piedmont some months ago.
The latest person to have died of the disease was an 68-year-old man from Trentola Ducenta, in the province of Caserta, who passed away in hospital late on Monday. (ANSA).
