Travelex, a leading foreign exchange (FX) brand, has initiated a comprehensive upgrade of its international ATM network in partnership with NCR Atleos.
The ambitious project will replace hardware and software for over 600 ATMs across eight countries, introducing cutting-edge features such as contactless cash withdrawals to enhance customer convenience.
The upgrade involves deploying NCR Atleos’ SelfServ ATM range alongside its advanced software and SaaS monitoring tool, Vision.
This technology will be rolled out across the UK, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Australia, and New Zealand. NCR Atleos has previously supported Travelex ATMs in high-volume airports and travel hubs, delivering consistent customer experiences and operational efficiencies.
Innovative Features for Enhanced Customer Experience
The refreshed ATM network will support both FX and domestic currency transactions while introducing a host of new capabilities:
- Contactless Cash Withdrawals: Customers can withdraw cash by tapping a card or NFC-enabled device such as a smartphone or smartwatch, eliminating the need to physically insert a card.
- Touch Screens and Barcode Readers: Modernized interfaces replace traditional buttons, offering an intuitive user experience.
- Enhanced Accessibility: Select ATMs in European markets will feature advanced functionalities to accommodate diverse customer needs.
Travelex’s new ATM network also integrates its proprietary Click and Collect service, available in the UK. This feature allows customers to pre-order foreign cash online at Travelex’s best rates and conveniently collect it from over 50 airport ATM locations.
