Travelex, a leader in foreign exchange services, has undertaken a comprehensive upgrade of its global ATM network, modernizing both the hardware and software of its 600 ATMs across eight nations. This overhaul introduces an array of cutting-edge features for Travelex clients, such as contactless cash withdrawals.
The updated ATM network will feature NCR Atleos’ SelfServ ATM series, enhanced by NCR Atleos’ software and Vision, a SaaS monitoring tool, deployed across the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Australia, and New Zealand. NCR Atleos has a proven track record with Travelex, previously implementing ATMs in major travel hubs and airports, which has improved operational efficiency and ensured a smooth customer experience.
Alongside standard foreign exchange and local currency transactions, the NCR Atleos SelfServ ATMs will offer an upgraded experience with touch screens, barcode scanners, and contactless payment readers in selected regions. The contactless option allows users to withdraw cash simply by tapping a card or using an NFC-enabled device, such as a smartphone or smartwatch. Although not yet common in many countries, this capability will now be available to Travelex customers at select European ATMs.
Additionally, the NCR Atleos SelfServ ATMs support Travelex’s exclusive “Click and Collect” service, enabling UK customers to pre-order foreign currency online at Travelex’s optimal rates and conveniently retrieve it from over 50 airport ATMs throughout the UK.
