(ANSA) – ROME, JAN 21 – Donald Trump is suffering from a delirium of omnipotence and a strong European Union response is needed, centre-left Democratic Party (PD) leader Elly Schlein said Tuesday.
“Trump’s message is clearly aggressive and worrying, it shows a delirium of omnipotence”, she told reporters in the parliamentary lobby.
The head of Italy’s biggest opposition group said that an analysis of the American president’s inauguration speech and the consequences also on Europe were on the table of the party secretariat that was held earlier in the day.
“We have highlighted a new scenario where right-wing nationalism is welded with the technological capitalism of big tech,” she said.
“We need a very strong response from the EU”. (ANSA).
