(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 4 – Two young workers, aged 30 and 20, are dead after falling into a septic tank they were cleaning at a private property in the town of Santa Maria di Sala, in the province of Venice, sources said on Monday.
Workplace deaths are a major problem in Italy and Premier Giorgia Meloni’s government has said boosting health and safety is a priority.
Work-related deaths in Italy rose by one last year to 1,202, labour-accident-and-illness insurance agency INAIL said in its annual report last month. (ANSA).
