(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 18 – Premier Gorgia Meloni said ahead of summits in Washington with Western leaders and then with US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that there were no easy solutions to the conflict and that all of them had to be explored to help end the three and a half year war that followed Moscow’s invasion of its neighbour.
“There are no easy solutions. I think we must explore all possible solutions to ensure peace and security for our nations,” said Meloni, in Washington for the meeting of European leaders and Zelensky with Donald Trump, emphasizing that “the work we will do today is important.
“Today is an important day. After three and a half years in which we had a Russia that gave no sign of dialogue and demanded Kiev’s capitulation, finally some glimmers of hope for dialogue are appearing.” (ANSA).
