Virudhunagar district, which includes five blocks – Virudhunagar, Aruppukottai, Thiruchuli, Kariapatti, and Narikudi, recorded zero maternal deaths during 2023-2024. There were 7,991 deliveries in primary health centres, govt hospitals, and private hospitals in the district during the period.
