The Social Network, directed by David Fincher and written by Aaron Sorkin, dramatised the founding of Facebook and the ensuing legal and personal conflicts among its co-founders. Based on Ben Mezrich’s book, The Accidental Billionaires, the film centres on young Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, and the betrayal, lawsuits, and ambition that followed. The Social Network is returning for part two
Years later, talk of a sequel, at times dubbed as The Social Network Part II, has been circulating since as early as 2019. In June 2025, Sony and Sorkin officially announced that a follow-up movie is in development. The new film has been retitled, The Social Reckoning, and is slated for release on October 9, 2026.
