Will Alex and Henry’s Wedding Be Worth the Wait Now That Red, White & Royal Wedding Is Confirmed?

When Red, White, & Royal Blue premiered on Prime Video in 2023, it became one of the streamer’s biggest success stories.

It showcased a compelling LGBTQ romance and representation with a unique relationship between Prince Henry and Alex Claremont-Diaz, the First Son of the United States.

Audiences enjoyed watching their relationship evolve from rivals to a romantic pairing. Fans have anxiously awaited news of a sequel.

While plans for Red, White, & Royal Blue 2 have been in the works since 2024, it wasn’t until October 15, 2025, that Amazon MGM Studios officially greenlit Red, White, & Royal Wedding.

I’m excited. I can’t wait to see FirstPrince married. However, it’s already been over two years, and it’ll likely be close to two more before it’s released.

Will the pay-off be worth it?

We’re Excited to Witness a Mature and Happy Verison of Alex and Henry

We don’t have many details about the Red, White, & Royal Blue sequel yet, except that the author of Red, White, & Royal Blue will write the script, along with Matthew Lopez, who adapted the first film.

They’re joined by Gemma Burgess (My Lady Jane) and director Jamie Babbit, who is currently directing the pilot for FOX’s Best Medicine, but is eager to show the snappy wit and relatable relationship of Alex and Henry.

After the First Son and British Prince encountered many obstacles as they started to date in the public eye, it will be interesting to see what a more adult relationship looks like now that they’ve both come out publicly.

Obviously, Alex’s parents handled the situation a bit better, but I’m anxious to see how Henry’s family will treat him, especially when the engagement happens.

Henry has always had to follow the rules, and it will be exciting to see him follow his heart.

Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez exhibit a believable connection between Prince Henry and Alex Claremont-Diaz, leaving fans longing to see their happily ever after.

Many of us will wait, no matter how long it takes.

Will Nicholas Galitzine’s Busy Schedule Prolong Filming and FirstPrince’s Happily Ever After?

Since the initial Red, While, & Royal Blue film, Nicholas Galitzine’s career has taken off, and he has become a busy, rising star.

He co-starred in The Idea of You with Anne Hathaway, and while she shone in that film, he held his own opposite her.

He recently completed filming his scenes as He-Man and Prince Adam in the 2026 film Masters of the Universe.

Now, Galitzine has been filming Netflix‘s Mosquito Bowl, a film about elite college football players who enlist in the U.S. Marines after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

It will be a different role for him, and it will be time-consuming.

We’re thrilled with his success, but where will ‘Red, White, and Royal Wedding’ fit into his schedule?

It’s already been over two years since we last saw Alex and Henry. Realistically, it’ll be around 2027 before this airs, though we’ve not heard an official announcement.

Currently, we can only speculate, as the script is still being worked on, and filming is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2026.

We will keep you posted with all details about the Royal Wedding.

Over to you, FirstPrince Fanatics. Are you excited to finally see them get married? Will it be worth the wait, or will you be disappointed by the lengthy gap between films?
