World Skate February Newsletter
Welcome all to the end of February, and with it another of our bracing monthly updates from your friends here at World Skate to get you all fired up going into the weekend.
This last 28-day interlude began with the pretty seismic announcement that Leticia Bufoni has joined World Skate’s Executive Board as Chair of the Skateboarding Technical Commission.
Not much more can be said there, other than to once again welcome Leticia and draw your attention to the details of her appointment here.
Hot on the heels of Leticia’s news came the release of the 2025 World Skateboarding Tour schedule.
Making landfall in the continents of North America, Asia and Europe, 2025’s Tour will see the cities of Rome, Washington DC and Kitakyushu play host to our skateboarding carnival as we mix old and new as never before.
February also saw the launch of another new World Skate content series based around the WST: Stomping Grounds will follow some of the individual skateboarders who make up our Tour back to their formative scenes and the skate terrain which shaped their journey so far.
Episode 1 features Dutch Olympian Keet Oldenbeuving (WSR Ranking: 21st) as she teaches at Den Bosch Skatepark and discusses both her story so far and the responsibilities of being a roll model to young skaters.
Taking us up to the tail end of the month came the release of the Judging Recaps and Performance Ledgers from our Level 1 Judging Certification course- the results of which we shared with you all last month.
Anyone interested in becoming a World Skate-accredited judge should study both these Online Testing Performance Ledgers and the Online Testing Judging Video recaps for guidance as we roll out our online testing programme this year and beyond.
That’s all from the shortest month of the year: as always we can be reached via skateboarding@worldskate.org with both enquiries and your own news!
