Following a lengthy development phase, YouTube TV rolls out a customizable multiview feature for subscribers after teasing it at Coachella.

YouTube TV is finally rolling out its customizable multiview feature for subscribers, which allows viewing up to four channels on one screen. The feature was released in a limited version back in 2023, and was most recently showcased during Coachella.

Customers on the main YouTube TV plan or one of the recently introduced “genre” plans will be able to build their own multiview of any networks available as part of their subscription, including add-ons like NFL Sunday Ticket. According to a YouTube rep, select “family-friendly” content is not available for multiview customization.

Users can also enjoy some design updates, which include creating their multiview in a new staging area where they can select content sorted into categories such as “Movies,” “Shows,” and “Recommended.” On the YouTube TV interface, users can click on the multiview tab at the bottom of the screen and then choose up to four different programs available as part of their subscription.

“Today, we’re officially launching fully customizable multiview on @YouTubeTV,” said YouTube CEO Neal Mohan in a social media post on Tuesday. “Our @youtube teams made one of our most popular features even better. The new multiview builder gives you full control to mix and match live streams (including add-ons like @NFL Sunday Ticket) and build the personalized viewing experience you’ve been asking for.”

First introduced in March 2023, the feature was limited to a pre-set list of news and sports channels tied to NFL Sunday Ticket content and limited sports events like March Madness. Afterward, it launched several “always-on” multiviews, which were also pre-selected channels of news, business, and weather coverage. Last year, YouTube TV expanded the feature to select non-sports content available on certain popular channels. Earlier this month, YouTube debuted the latest iteration of multiview at Coachella.

The base YouTube TV plan is currently priced at $82.99 per month and provides access to over 100 channels, including local feeds of ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox.
