(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 20 – Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky and Premier Giorgia Meloni discussed possible negotiating platforms with Russia in a phone conversation Tuesday, he said on X.
“I had a good conversation with Giorgia Meloni. As always, interesting ideas. We discussed yesterday’s talks with President Trump and European leaders. We are coordinating our positions.
Italy supports all efforts aimed at achieving genuine peace. We agreed to stay in touch on the next steps,” he said.
“We also discussed possible platforms for talks with the Russians. A ceasefire is needed to save lives. Honest diplomacy is needed. Ukraine is ready and it is essential to ensure that Russia is ready to truly end the war”. (ANSA).
