Bobby Deol is recently enjoying the success of Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, in which the actor was seen playing the role of ‘Ajay Talvar’. In October, 2025, the Animal actor completed 30 years in the Bollywood industry and on the special occasion, he recalled his journey from his debut film and shared how he was supposed to debut with Karisma Kapoor.
Karisma Kapoor was the first choice for Bobby Deol’s debut film, Barsaat
Recently, Bobby Deol sat down for a candid conversation with SCREEN, in which he opened up about his debut film, Barsaat and shared that Twinkle Khanna was not the first choice for the film. He revealed that the film was first offered to Karisma Kapoor but since she was a little insecure about the film, she decided to debut with the film, Prem Qaidi. He was quoted as saying:
“Actually, I was supposed to start with Karisma Kapoor. But my film’s story wasn’t getting developed. The scripting was still going on. At that point, women’s careers were such that they couldn’t work for many years. That’s changed now, thankfully. So, Karisma was a little insecure, and I don’t blame her for that. So, she decided to start her career with Prem Qaidi (1991).”
