Litchfield Hills RC Hosts Regatta to End ALZ

Litchfield Hills Rowing Club will host the inaugural Regatta to End ALZ, a fundraiser benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association, on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at Bantam Lake in Litchfield, Connecticut.

The Regatta to End ALZ is part of LHRC’s annual Head of the Swain, the club’s signature summer regatta and the culmination of months of training for youth and adult athletes.

Event coordinator Greg McKim said the partnership gives the club an opportunity to support the Alzheimer’s Association while mobilizing the broader rowing community.

“We can do a really good thing for these folks, and we can help them raise money,” McKim said. “The rowing community is so tight. If it has anything to do with rowing, they’re all in.”

The event aims to bring together rowers, families, local businesses, and other community supporters to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. Competitive racing, rowing demonstrations, and family-friendly activities are planned.
