A man has died after getting into difficulty at an Essex beach as emergency services rush to the scene.
Officers were contacted just before 2.10pm this afternoon with reports about a man in the sea off The Esplanade in Frinton.
An air ambulance landed on the Greensward in Frinton-on-Sea while emergency services rushed to the scene to assist.
He had been brought ashore, police confirmed, before being pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers have confirmed the man’s family has been informed.
A spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
“Emergency service personnel remain at the scene and our response is continuing.
“We would ask members of the public to avoid the area wherever possible to allow emergency services to carry out their work safely and effectively.”
The man in Frinton is the fourth fatality at sea in the county in just over a week while Britain swelters in its fourth heatwave this summer.
Last Wednesday, 41-year-old Shally Rahman and her 15-year-old daughter, Samiha Rahman, died when they entered the water to rescue a stranded seven-year-old in the water in West Mersea.
Musa Ahmed, 7, died on Tuesday after being taken to the hospital.
Essex Police said the drowning victims and the young boy were all members of the same family from Barking in east London.

On Saturday, another man was hospitalised after he was pulled from the water by Clacton Pier.
A man in his 20s and a teenage girl were also rescued from the scene.
Since the start of summer, soaring temperatures have smashed previous records, with heatwaves in May and June recording new highs.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) said it was “likely that 2026 could see the highest number of heat-associated deaths on record”.
The same data indicated there had been close to double number of excess deaths caused by heatwaves so far in 2026 than the entirety of last year.
The new report estimates there were 2,877 heat-associated deaths during the heatwaves in May and June this year,.
Some 753 deaths were associated with the May heatwave from May 24 until May 27.
During the June heatwave, 2,124 were recorded to have died between June 21 and 28.
