DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Emergency officials are currently responding to reports of a plane crash on a Massachusetts highway as a powerful nor’easter was slamming the Northeast and New England.
Few details have been released, but the Massachusetts Department of Transportation said the plane crashed onto Interstate 195 in Dartmouth on Monday morning.
I-195 is currently closed in both directions at Exit 22, and there is no estimated time as to when the highway may reopen.
It’s unknown what type of plane crashed, how many people were onboard or if any injuries were reported to anyone on the plane or on the highway.
The plane crashed as a powerful nor’easter was tearing across portions of the Northeast and New England, bringing heavy rain and strong wind gusts to the region. However, it’s unknown if the nor’easter played a role in the crash at this point.
