(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 27 – Italy thumped Namibia 73-6 in their biggest away win ever in the first of three summer tests Friday, the others both being against south Africa.
The Azzurri ran in 11 tries at Windhoek, with Trulla (3), Marin, Gesi, Menoncello, Fusco, Spagnolo, and Varney plus two penalty tries decided by the Welsh referee Brace for irregularities committed by the Namibians.
The last precedent between the two sides was in the 2023 World Cup, when the Azzurri won 52-8.
The other two matches of this tour will both be against South Africa, on July 5 in Pretoria and on the 12th in Porth Elizabeth. (ANSA).
