Stuiben Trailrun 2026: Trailrunning spectacle in the Ötztal

the 2026 Stuiben Trailrun in the Ötztal Valley (AUT) impressively demonstrated why the event has long since made a name for itself on the international trail running scene. Despite challenging weather conditions, over 1,000 athletes from 26 countries transformed Umhausen into a hub for mountain sports.

At the Stuiben Trailrun, the tallest waterfall in Tyrol, standing at 159 meters, serves as the centerpiece of the various disciplines. Regardless of the chosen distance, participants must climb exactly 728 intricately constructed natural and steel steps. The premier distance of 42 kilometers (course modified to 36 km) and 1,900 meters of elevation gain was particularly spectacular. In the men’s race, Germany’s Sven Koch prevailed in a strong time of 03:20:02, while in the women’s race, Edith Zell (AUT) from Längenfeld triumphed once again in 04:18:31.
