In 1929, Boston Bruins star Eddie Shore missed his train to Montreal, so he drove about 350 miles through a blizzard to make the game. His tire chains wore out, his windshield wiper froze, and the car even landed in a ditch. He still arrived, played, and scored the only goal in Boston’s 1–0 win.
