(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 25 – Berlusconi family holding company Fininvest on Monday denied media reports that talks with an unnamed wealthy Arab were at an advanced stage for the sale of late former three-time premier and media mogul Silvio Berlusconi’s luxury Sardinian residence and bolt-hole Villa Certosa.
“We are receiving various expressions of interest, but at the moment there are no advanced negotiations,” a Fininvest spokesperson stated regarding the possibility of a definitive buyer for the sprawling property in northern Sardinia. “We never comment on rumours about individual buyers,” added the spokesperson for the Berlusconi heirs’ holding company after the newspaper ‘La Nuova Sardegna’ suggested that negotiations for the sale of Berlusconi’s historic summer residence, overlooking the Gulf of Porto Rotondo, with a 4,500-square-meter estate, 126 rooms, a 120-hectare park, and an artificial volcano, were in the final stages.
