<p>Clementines have long been a stocking-filler staple, but this year the familiar festive fruit is moving to the drinks trolley. M&S is predicting clementine will be one of the biggest flavour trends of Christmas 2026, with research suggesting that almost two-thirds of shoppers would choose a clementine-flavoured drink during the festive season. I’m certainly partial to a clementine at the end of the day, offering a much needed burst of freshness after all the indulgences of the Christmas period.</p><p>M&S’ answer is a new <a href="https://ocadoretailltd.pxf.io/c/1236178/2854492/33128?subId1=bbcgoodfood-1025018&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ocado.com%2Fproducts%2Fm-s-clemencello-liqueur%2F698105011" target="_blank" rel="sponsored">Clemencello Liqueur (£13)</a>, described as the UK’s first of its kind. It launches in M&S stores and on Ocado from 23 September, following the success of the retailer’s <a href="https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?id=489797&clickref=bbcgoodfood-1025018&awinmid=1402&p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.marksandspencer.com%2Ffood%2Flimoncello-liqueur%2Fp%2Ffdp60753329" target="_blank" rel="sponsored">Limoncello Liqueur</a>, which reportedly sold three times more bottles than expected. Given the popularity of this lemony digestif and all its sunny Mediterranean connotations, I’m also expecting its new Christmassy counterpart to be a hit.</p>

<h2 id="how-to-serve-clemencello-b4e9baa5">How to serve Clemencello</h2><p>I’m already imagining a bottle of Clemencello chilling in the fridge ready for after-dinner drinks. Serve it over ice and you’ll get the full effect of its bright, zesty citrus flavour, or add a splash to sparkling wine for a festive fizz.</p><p>You could also top it with soda water for a lighter long drink, or use it in a spritz with plenty of ice and a clementine twist. If you’re hosting, it would make an easy signature serve, especially when you want something a little more distinctive than the usual prosecco.</p><p>And don’t restrict it to the drinks menu. Clemencello would work wonders in a drizzle cake, or its citrus flavour could bring extra freshness to other rich festive bakes from fruit cakes to chocolate tortes. <p>With limoncello becoming an increasingly popular after-dinner choice, Clemencello feels like a very seasonal successor.
