It was back in February 2020 when Nag Ashwin officially announced his dream project, Kalki 2898 AD, under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies. The filmmaker’s project caught everyone’s attention when he confirmed that A-listed actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, Rajendra Prasad, Brahmanandam, and Saswata Chatterjee are part of his film.

According to multiple reports, Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD has a budget of Rs. 600 crore, which is another reason for the significant buzz surrounding it back in time. The film not only captured the attention of everyone in India but also made its mark on the international stage. During the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con, Nag Ashwin confirmed that he had changed the title of his film from ‘Project K’ to ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. It was the first time when an Indian film’s teaser was premiered at San Diego Comic-Con.
